The World Economic Forum organized the "Closing the Skills Gap, Global Learning Network" event on 15 June 2022. This event brought representatives together from countries implementing the Closing the Skills Gap Accelerator Program to share best practices and experiences on different financing mechanisms focusing on diversifying funding sources and promoting cost-sharing arrangements with the private sector. Participants from Bahrain, Brazil, Georgia, Greece, Pakistan, Republic of South Africa, Turkey and Singapore was attended to the meeting. Takaaki Kizu from the International Labour Organization (ILO) presented "Financing Lifelong Learning" and provided information on supply and demand side of financial instruments for individuals and businesses. Frederico Lamego de Teixeira Soares from SENAI Brazil presented "Financing Models for Vocational Training – Experiences and Results 2018" and presented the private-public partnership model for financing and implementing skills acquisition programs in Brazil. Finally, Jawad Khan from Parwaaz Pakistan presented "Parwaaz Innovative Financing Models" and provided information on employer-financed, student-financed and pay-per- employee financed vocational training and employment models.
